Palenque - Chiapas, Mexico
During our stay at San Cristobal de las Casas, we went on an overnight trip to Palenque.
This archeological site was a Maya city state. The Palenque ruins date from to 100 BC to its fall around 800 AD.
Mayans had cool vaulted ceiling hallways.
I usually like to view my ruins as I sit on the branch of a tree, but not this one (open the photo full size and check out the sitting surface)
