Down the Rio San Juan.

This is the next leg of our journey:

View Mexico to Nicaragua-Rio San Juan in a larger map
We will fly from Tuxtla Gutierrez via Mexico City & Managua to San Carlos.  This is the inlet to the San Juan River which flows from Lake Nicaragua to the Gulf of Mexico.

View Rio San Juan in a larger map
The San Juan River is the boarder between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. We will visit El Castillo,  a 17th century Spanish fortress. Then we will take a day trip up Rio Bartola into the Reserva Biologica Indio-Maiz. There are 500 year old cathedral trees in this vine-hung wilderness of jaguars and macaws.  (This all depends on getting a flight from Managua to San Carlos.)

  2. Nurse Deb,

I believe that the 3 most popular sports in Tunisia are:

    1. Football, called Soccer in USA, is the most popular sport. Their team, the Eagles of Carthage have participated in 4 Fifa World Cup Championships.
    2. Handball, the second most popular sport, is one of Tunisias best sports. Tunisia won the 2010 African cup, with the top scorer of 2005 on their team.
    3. Pétanque is the third most popular sport. Tunisia has won the world championships many times.

  3. Dear Nurse Deb,

As soon as you arrive in Germany, a few national parks I would recommend are: the Schlewig- Holsien Wadden sea NP. A located in Westerhever because it contains the only lighthouse in Northern Germany. Also because it’s right next to the ocean, so you could see a wonderful view of the ocean.

Another national park you could see is the Kellerwald-Edersee located in Hesse because there is wonderful weather and there’s much to see.

And the last national park is the Bervian National park because it’s one of the only parks in the forest.

  4. Dear Nurse Deb,

While I tried to research something helpful about the country of Sweden, I discovered that 90% of Swedish people speak English. There are some people who don’t speak English, but most of the people will understand you.

    Your student,
    Ryan

  8. France Food
    By Kevin

Breakfast is often a quick meal consisting of slices of French bread with jelly or jam, croissants or a pastry filled with chocolate along with coffee or tea. Children often drink hot chocolate in bowls along with their breakfasts. Breakfast of some kind is always served in cafés opening early in the day.

Lunch was once a two hour mid-day meal, but it has recently seen a trend towards the one hour lunch break. In some smaller towns, the two hour lunch may still be customary. Sunday lunches are often longer and are taken with the family. Many restaurants close on Saturday and Monday during lunch.

Dinner often consists of three courses, (introductory course, often soup), plat principal, and a cheese course or dessert, sometimes with a salad offered before the cheese or dessert. Yogurt may replace the cheese course, while a normal everyday dessert would be fresh fruit. The meal is often accompanied by bread, wine and mineral water. Wine consumption has been dropping recently amongst young people. Many restaurants close for dinner on Sundays. Some restaurants open on Sundays, such as pizzerias.
