Tour la escuela

Here is a little taste of our Spanish language school and the people we see every day.  We have breakfast and lunch (at 2:30) every day here .  We have language class from 9 am to noon and conversation class from 12:30 to 2.  It is very difficult to find time for swimming and other water sports.

This week we also explored the history and current issues in Puerto Escondido in a walking tour. We visited a woman making tamales, and another woman who grinds coffee, chocolate and corn for special occasions. After school we took a cooking class and learned how to make cactus salad. Another evening we took a salsa dancing class at school. It was lots of fun. We also met the guy who runs the local cinema. We watched "Black Swan", very creepy and not for kids. We had a wide-ranging conversation with the owner about films and current events in the Middle East.

  1. Love following you this way. If we were all luckier, you'd be on the internet right now and we could try skyping, and then you could talk with Kendall, whose company we've enjoyed this pm. (I got to have her help w/chopping, and she's now dining with us.) Do you even know my skype handle?! westcoastelle
And now must run to get on phone w/Peter Hayes to talk about Oregon job. Life, as always, is interesting!!!
