The view from our front porch the morning after. |
One week before we depart for our tropical beach, a fine blanco blanket envelopes us. We walked for an hour or so in the fresh snow last night reveling in the purity of it. Kicking up the fine particles knowing it's our last nieve we will know for a year.
We met a man furiously spinning the wheels of his four wheel drive suv in the ditch. Our words of encouragement were not enough to send him over the rim and onto the pavement. Our next door neighbor Tim stopped and we had a fine conversation with the background of the truck constantly whirring wheels forward 10 feet and back 10 feet, over and over.
I am seriously packing things in my bag. carefully placing those items items I want to have, but not to carry, near, but not in the bag. These are small things, not heavy individualy but will add up to a 50lb pack if not resisted. We shall see what the final weight tally will be.
